Each title keeps a directory of the manufacturers, suppliers, licensors, and research institutes active in its market. Listings come in three tiers, and only one of them is paid.

Standard listings are compiled by our editors. Submitting a company on its title draws our attention to it.

Maximum 3 per category per title. A full category joins the waiting list.
Every listing, including a free one, reports its own views and click outs to the company that holds it.
Standard listings are not applied for. Listings are managed per title: a company is listed on the title that covers its market, and Verified or Featured is arranged there too.
How listings relate to editorial coverage
They do not. A Featured listing gives a company prominence inside the directory. It does not produce an article, a mention in a tracker, a better reading, or a favourable line in a research report. Our editors are not told who has bought a listing when they assess a market.
The reverse also holds. A company that has never paid us anything appears in the directory on the same terms as one that has, and is covered on its merits. Removing a company from a directory is an editorial decision about whether it is still active in the market, never a commercial one.
Featured listings are labelled wherever they appear, so a reader can always see which position was bought and which was earned.

Verified is one price on every title, because verifying a company is the same work wherever it appears. Featured is priced per title, because it sells visibility and position, which is worth more in a larger market, and its rate already covers verification rather than adding to it.
